Kerry’s U14’s defeat Down in the All Ireland Tony Forrestal Shield final
In the All Ireland U14 B Competition in Clonad GAA, in the group stages Kerry beat Meath 2-6 to 0-4 / Lost to Westmeath 3-6 to 2-6. This meant that Kerry went into the Shield where they faced Armagh in the 1/4 final. They beat Armagh  6-13 to 1-1. Kerry proved too strong for O'Moores (Laois B) in the semi final overpowering them 2-08 to 0-06 to advance to meet Down in the Shield Final. Kerry started slowly and lead by just 2 points at the short whistle 1-04 to 1-02. A brilliant 10 minute spell in the second half, Kerry put the game beyond reach of Down and had the luxury of introducing all of their subs to win on a score line of Kerry 2-10 Down 1-04.
A delighted Kerry captain Daniel O'Carroll (Ballyduff) accepted the Tony Forrestal Shield on behalf of his team.
Well done to team management of Diarmuid Carroll & Noel Browne (Ballyduff), Ian Brick (Kilmoyley), and Enda O’Dowd (Dingle).
