VHI / GAA Cúl Camps

THE VHI/GAA Cúl Camps are now at the midway stage and Michael McCarthy, Donal Daly and the GDAs have done an immense job organising these camps. The camps are well attended with over 120 children attending last week's camp in the JP O'Sullivan Park, Killorglin.

The qualified coaches teach the children the necessary skills, which they later put into practice during their mini-games. The children are provided with jerseys, shorts, socks and bags and one of the highlights of the week is the opportunity to meet the VHI/GAA Cúl Camp Ambassador and Kerry star Marc Ó Sé, who offers the children valuable words of advice.

One interesting fact that has emerged is that, not only are local children attending but families from outside Kerry are planning their holidays to include a camp, such was the case in Killorglin for Dara and Pádraig Purcell from Kilmacud Crokes, Dublin and Erwan Brennan, Paris.

Next week's camps are in Kemare, Ballybunion, Ballymacelligott, Knocknagoshel, Portmagee, Crotta O' Neills and Ballydonoghue, so if you would like to register your child for any of the camps, please contact Donal Daly at the County Committee Office or enrol with the camp co-ordinator before the camp starts on Monday morning.
